There’s a very interesting study out by Marketing Sherpa – their annual survey of about 1,900 high tech marketing executives about what works and what doesn’t:

  • Free trials -54%
  • Webcasts – 43%
  • White papers – 31%
  • Blog -35%
  • Podcasts – 22%

For micro-ISVs, I’d say that Blogs are top of the list for value returned per hours spent, Webcasts in the form of online product videos rate high in helping prospective customers “get” your software or site and podcasts are coming on strong.
