Hi Again!

hiagain
Readers of this blog may have noticed I’ve not posted for 2+ weeks. That’s just no way to run a blog or treat your readers, I know. But since I announced back around the first of July that I was starting a consulting practice to help microISVs succeed, things have gotten busy:

  • Providing custom consulting services to three clients to date.
  • Most of the first ebook in a series for microISVs completed – should finish, reviewed, released and for sale later this month.
  • Working through a number of ideas re delivering value to microISVs at less than custom rates (I charge $150 USD/hr.) including online classes, email courses and other ideas. The online class (four weekly conference calls with homework assignments, group discussions) may be something that I do in the future, but not now (see below).

Since I decided that I really wanted to focus my time and energy on helping microISVs succeed, I’ve been thinking hard about the best way to deliver extremely excellent value at a compelling price that would also show a profit. I started on one software application, but decided that as good as that idea was, it just wasn’t compelling enough.

About 2 weeks ago, I came up with a new idea for a product that would be extremely compelling to microISVs – one that would solve a significant portion of the pain of starting a software startup as well as making that micro company successful. I hope to have a beta by the end of this month, and won’t be talking about it at all with anyone until I’ve got something to show on a screen.

All of the above is my mea culpa for not posting here for so long, and even longer over at http://clearblogging.com. The blogging blockage is over, and you can expect to see a lot more posts this month, hopefully worth your time to read.

October is definitely going to be a looong month for me – lots to do. So if you’d like to author a guest post -and- have something to share about your microISV experience to date, please email me at bob.walsh@47hats.com. And yes, I will be talking more later this month about “Project X”, but not yet.

Thanks for reading my blog.
